The Rules and Regulations for any Event organised by the County are explained below. The events are:

Spring / Summer / Autumn Meetings Perthshire Advertiser Trophies)..
The tournaments will be 18 holes strokeplay. Scratch and Handicap prizes will be awarded. There will be no maximum handicap and the field shall be divided into two handicap sections, scratch or better to
9 handicap and 10 handicap plus. An Order of Merit for the Perthshire Advertiser Trophies will be run in conjunction with the two handicap sections. The tournaments will be confined to members of clubs within the area. In the event of ties the results will be decided on the best 9 holes etc.

Champion of Champions
The Championship will be played over 36 holes of strokeply (scratch) Only players designated as "Club Champions" shall be permitted to play along with defending Champion of Champions, the Area Strokeplay Champion, and the Area Matchplay Champion. In the event of any club member from within the area winning a National Championship then he may also be invited to play. In the event of a tie the best second round will take precedence and then the best last 9 holes etc.

Stroyan Trophy
The championship will be played over 18 holes of strokeplay (scratch). each club may enter one team of two players playing foursomes and shall be confined to members of clubs within the area. In the event of a tie the results will be decided on the best 9 holes etc.

P&K County Team Championship (Qualifier for the Scottish Club Championship)
The championship will be played over 18 holes of strokeplay (scratch) Teams MUST consist of three players with the best two scores counting on an aggregate basis. In the event of a tie the third score shall be added. If a further decision is required the last 9 holes of all three team members shall be added then the last six holes etc. The championship will be confined to players whose HOME club is registered within the Area.

Strokeplay Championship
The Championship will be played over 36 holes strokeplay (scratch) and the field restricted by ballot if necessary to the lowest handicap golfers entered by the closing date, but not exceeding 42 players in total. The event under extreme circumstances may be restricted to 18 holes.
In the event of a tie for the championship a play-off shall be organised between players concerned over the same course. Only players whose HOME club is registered within the Area may participate. The Carlownie Cup will be awarded to the player under 21 years of age and returning the best aggregate score.

Matchplay Championship
The Championship shall consist of the best 16 aggregate scores returned in the Strokeplay Championship. In the event of a tie for the minor placings the best second round will take precedence and then the best last 9 holes ect for qualification. All matches will be played over 18 holes with extra holes where necessary to obtain a result.

All County competitions will be run under the rules of the Royal & Ancient Golf club of St Andrews and any local rule pertaining to the day. In the event of any dispute the decision of the area executive will be final.

Bell Trophy
A team shall consist of 5 players which may be drawn from all four handicap sections CSR - 5, 6 - 12, 13-20, 21-28 but will not have MORE than TWO players from any one section and must be played in strict
handicap order. In the event of any team being a player short they will forfeit that game.

The matches will consist of five games played over 18 holes of matchplay. In the event of a drawn match, the game or games finishing all square should play "Sudden Death" taking their allocated strokes at the appropriate holes until a result is obtained.

The Club drawn at HOME must give the opposition THREE dates one of which must be on a different week from the other two. (A week runs from Monday until Sunday)The two teams must exchange order of team selection showing the current handicap prior to play commencing. Any default in the order will result in the loss of the game or games in
which the default occurs.

A player may only represent one club in any given season.

Coronation Trophy
A team shall consist of 6 players. In the event of any team being a player short they will forfeit that game.

Scratch Order of Merit
The Order of Merit has been expanded and points will be allocated ONLY to players who finish in the top five places for strokeplay events. The points value will differ depending upon the the structure of the selected event.

Points will only be awarded to Perth & Kinross players who finish in the top five places ( scratch ) and not to the top five Perth & Kinross players..

Scratch League
1. A team shall consist of FIVE PLAYING MEMBERS from the club. (Not
    necessarily the Players home club.) No limit to size of pool

2. A player may only play for ONE Club in any one season

3. All matches will be played over 18 holes of matchplay. Five single games.

4. All matches will be played on the Friday evening as scheduled.

5. All teams must play their players in strict handicap order. (Exact handicaps will apply, not
   playing handicaps) 

6. All matches must be played. In the event of it not being possible to play a match on the
   scheduled date, it must be played on a date agreed between the two team captains, prior
   to the date of the next sceduled match. Any re-arrangement of a match must be notified to
   the Scratch League Convenor immediately.

7. In the event that a match is not re-arranged under rule 6, the executive reserve the right to
    impose a result and the match will be considered to have been played.

8. Scoring system..................... 2 points for match won
............................................... 1 point for match drawn

 In the event of teams having equal points at the end of the season, individual game results   (games won and lost over the season) will decide the qualifiers for the play off. Should this  result in a tie, a playoff on a neutral course will be arranged by the executive.

9. Match result sheets must be returned to the scratch league convenor by the home team captain not later than three days after each match.   Pre stamped envelopes will be provided.

10. In the event of any dispute, the decision of the area executive will be final.
