Lansdowne 40 - Open Texas Scramble
Sunday 4th September 2016

The Lansdowne course  is celebrating 40 years of golf this year by hosting an Open Texas Scramble.

The event, which is being held on Sunday 4th September, is open to teams of three at £100 per team, including soup and sandwiches afterwards. Times will be available from 9am until 3pm approximately. Entries will  be accepted on a first come, first served basis.

The Lansdowne course was designed by Peter Alliss and the late Dave Thomas, and opened in 1976. It offered members of the Club a second 18 hole course as a sister to the famous Rosemount. The Lansdowne course has been redeveloped and refined over the 40 years and has hosted a number of notable events through the years. Back in 2011, Andy Sullivan, a potential member of Darren Clarke’s Ryder Cup team this year, won the Scottish Amateur Strokeplay over the Lansdowne course, kick-starting his career in the big leagues.
